About Dave Whitmer
A long, long time ago as a youth of 15, I first laid my hands on machine tools. That Dixon High School shop class introduced me to the machine world. I was fascinated by the intricacies of making exact measurements that transformed a raw piece of metal into a working masterpiece
After graduating from high school I enrolled in "Complete Master Machinist/Tool & Die Making" course and have not stopped since. I attended training at Allie Institute of Technology in Chicago IL. I built 5 working dies; cut gears; made drill bits and reamers with helix, heat treating and grinding to size; fabricated V blocks & angle plates; turned internal/external threads in this class. It was very important to me and became instrumental in firing my desire to perfect the art of machining.
But I put this passion on hold while I served in the Army for 2 years and toured in Korea. Being a proud American, I felt the need to support our National freedoms by protecting our interests and freedoms of others in the world. I returned home, free to follow my chosen career.
The better part of the next 50 plus years were spent learning the world of machining. Vast and ever changing world has challenged me to become a creative machinist. This passion seems to be in my blood. You dream it, I want to build it--you break it, I want to fix it--It won't run right for you, I find the glitch and fix it. I want to make machines run better than ever before!
For your machining problem, I am waiting and offering my skilled knowledge to solve it. I can be reached by calling the number below or by emailing me with details. Together we can solve the problems and get you back into full production soon!
