About Dave Flannery
In 1980, I started as a draftsman and photographer in nuclear power plant construction. I have had many experiences up to now, working as an engineer and website designer for Uncle Davie’s Machine Shop and the CMM operator for Rotary Air Lock. I have been a draftsman, a designer, an engineer, a superintendent, a maintenance manager, a tool room manager, a satellite installation technician, a tree remover and many other things.
I have been involved in many projects including restructuring a remanufacturing process that was losing $150,000.00 a year to making over $1,000,000.00 a year. An project I was involved in was manufacturing process were initially producing 49,000 units a week, with 3 shifts, 7 days a week. At the end of the restructuring, the teams were using a process that produced 60,000 units a week, with 2 shifts, in 5 days. The teams did this without adding new equipment and by reducing the labor by 33%, using a lean manufacturing method.
I have implemented Kanban Inventory Control Systems that reduced backorders from 30% to less than 2%. I have designed and built production testing equipment that reduced warranty work from 30% to less than 5%. I have designed and built a lifecycles tester that improved the longevity of our remanufactured and manufactured product and proved out many design changes. I have been involved in many more projects that have solved several problems.
In conclusion with Uncle Davie and I, we have the experience to help you out of your machining and processing needs.
